Roger Talk App Reviews

I would encourage just about anyone to try out Roger. It has a very pleasant UI, and in general, the quality is high. I wont pull down the rating for my concerns- I sincerely enjoy the experience. Some suggestions: Set the app apart from the voice messages within messaging applications. Make it more secure, easier use, easier to connect to- any and all of those things will attract users. Does the application include live conversations? As in truly live, back and forth? That genuine walkie-talkie feature would facilitate conversation that pushes the app past texting "with your voice"

Extremely useful - easier than calling and more personal than texting!! My friends and I talk so much more now and its really fun too. It feels just like a walkie talkie and not like voicemail. I never got into the iMessage voice and it felt like voicemail, but with Roger life is awesome!

Long time Voxer user but thought I would try this out. Pretty good, simple, no frills. A few things could be easier. One huge thing that will keep me on the other app until its fixed is the notification volume. I have no idea why so many apps refuse to have a notification you can hear.

They did some nice things with the design of this app, but the core functionality of the app (instant voice communication) is not nearly as good as Voxer, which I would guess is their top competitor. Ive tried every walkie talkie app I can find, and this one is a decent attempt, but not the best one out there.

Voxer look-a-like-wanna-be and hey copyright infringement on the Singfit prime app??? Flush it. Why keep reinventing the wheel when your reinventing something more akin to that of a predecessor..? Everyone seeing this has iOS? Right? Open your messages. Open any message. See the thingy on tha gosh dern text line all the way right from that camera thingy next to the text space ya type inta?? That little microphone??? The microphone in the gray circle???? Play around with it a lil shitfry. You might even have a bit of an ah-ha moment. My god. this is why we are in a serious stagnation of ideas and innovation world wide. Hell the Chinese even gave up and now they just make cheeeeeeap mass produced synthetic slightly different not-quite-drugs for us to insufflate or whatever you so choose to do, boof them, and such, all in the name of the New American Dream. You know. Numb yourself enough to forget that Rome is burning all around you. Do yourself a favor if you care at all about moving forward. Instead of calling yourself a progressive and voting for Bernie you mouth breathing softist. Socialism didnt work before and its supposed to work in a considerably weaker less disciplined more socially defunct country now, why? Hows any one of those countries doing? Wait its rhetorical, because they still pale in comparison no matter how long we give them to catch up and thats supposing we just sit on our thumb and tickle our prostate a while longer. Love this app hope they make more of this app it was a very good Ive like to talk to my friend today and I hope that they make more for it and I hope that they do make more items in the same thing

A pleasure to use but isnt as instantaneous as a walkie talkie.

Really fun app and convenient. If it dont want it on speaker you can hear it. Very clear audio. Amazingly clear and crisp. Love this app.

Remember the old walkie/talkie days? Well this app brings it back in an amazing way and best of all its free. Easy setup and you can contact anyone, even if they dont have the app. If your an Amazon customer, you can sign in to your account and ask Echo a question and get an answer.

I love chat apps like this, its very simple to use, very clear audio, put another way, it does what it says and does it well. As a blind user, Im also very impressed that this app is fully VoiceOver accessible. Great job, heres hoping the innovation continues.

This app is great! It takes texts to the next level. I get to drop lines to my friends and family on a regular basis and they are able to hear me, so it takes away any of those "I wonder what they meant by that" moments. It has the benefits of a phone call, but I can answer on my own time, if Im busy or need to think of the right response. Id like to be able to start a conversation with a random person. I think that would be a cool feature! But this is a solid app as is!

This app is dope. And they keep making it better. Get it.

Needs a lot of work

My voice app of choice used to be Cord (RIP), and Roger has a lot of similarities to Cord. The developers talk about wanting to get people to talk more, and emphasize a high audio quality (it really does sound like my mom is there with me instead of 500 miles away). The UI is clean and fun to use. Two things about Cord I really miss here with Roger: I hope the devs add a way to group multiple contacts together into one voice conversation (in addition to individual conversations, its nice to be able to have one convo for my whole family). Also, I dont mind the messages being deleted after 48 hours, but if I miss a certain message, it would be nice to quickly be able to see ALL recently sent messages between you and that person and hear it again. But I really love little details unique to Roger like doubletapping to record hands-free, lifting the phone to the ear to have the message play automatically, and the weather backgrounds! Cord died because Spotify wanted to poach the devs and they killed the app instead of offering minimal support. I really hope something similar doesnt happen to Roger, because its my favorite app!

Roger is a great app! Definitely one of the best in the App Store! However, I think Apple Watch support would take it over the top! There isnt anything implemented well for voice chat!

Alexa integration is neat, but, the location info needs fixed. Im in Texas, but, Alexa thinks Im in Seattle.

I like this app because its simple to use and the UI is straight forward. Tech support is friendly and quick to respond.

I absolutely love this app. It is everything I have always wanted in an app of this type. The sound quality is superb. There is no time limit on conversations. You dont have to hold a button while talking. Im a totally blind person who uses voiceover on my phone, and this app is extremely accessible, and it doesnt drain my battery. Im not interested in sending videos, so Im glad this app isnt cluttered with those kinds of options. Keep up the great work, and there arent enough stars for me to rate this one. Youll have to settle for 5.
